Scar Mountain

Legacy Page: Due to Waldo Canyon Fire no hiking is currently allowed on Glen Eyrie property. This trail is no longer available.

Scar Mountain, also known as Queens Canyon Quarry or The Greg Francis Bighorn Sheep Habitat is a bare hill easily visible from many parts of Colorado Springs. It is located just north of Garden of the Gods with Queens Canyon on its western side. It's a fairly steep hike with great views and if you are lucky you may see a herd of Bighorn Sheep that live there.

Length: 3.2 miles roundtrip.

Directions: Take exit 146 from I-25 and drive west on Garden of the Gods road. Turn left on 30th street and drive 0.5 miles. Turn right to enter Glen Eyrie property. You must sign a release to hike in Glen Eyrie. Hiking is allowed Monday through Thursday, 9AM - 4PM. For more information visit their website.
